GOBOULT Mustang GT20 20W Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Bluetooth 6.0

Loud enough for the room, small enough to carry

If you want a speaker that fills a living room or a small get-together without much fuss, the GOBOULT Mustang GT20 is aimed squarely at that. It pushes 20W of stereo output through dual dynamic drivers, and the passive bass radiator adds a bit of low-end weight that small speakers often skip. Turn it up and the bass has some body to it, which you notice most on beat-heavy tracks. Honestly, that is where it feels most at home.

The look and the feel

The design borrows from the Mustang, and you can see it right away. There is a metallic grille up front and a leather-textured finish along the body, so it feels a little more grown-up than a plain plastic box. It comes in Turbo Black and Turbo Ice. After dark, the dynamic RGB lighting with underbody DRL-style glow shows up nicely, especially when the lights in the room are low. Some people will find it a bit much, others will love it. At roughly 21.5 × 14 × 13.2 cm, it sits easily on a shelf or a desk without taking over.

Connections and controls

Pairing runs on Bluetooth 6.0, and TWS support lets you link a second unit for wider sound if you ever want that. If your phone is not around, there are other routes too: USB, Type-C and TF card playback. The multifunction joystick is a nice touch, since you can move it to skip tracks, adjust things or handle a call rather than hunting for tiny buttons. Hands-free calling is built in, which is handy when you are mid-playlist and someone rings.

Battery and everyday use

The 4000mAh battery is rated for up to 12 hours of playback according to a current product listing, so an afternoon and evening should not be a worry. Charging goes through USB Type-C, meaning one cable less to hunt for. With IPX4 splash resistance, a few drops by the balcony or poolside will not spoil the day, though it is not something to dunk. Competitively positioned for what it offers, it suits anyone who wants a bit of style along with the sound.
